I am a manager and entrepreneur specializing in innovation and security. I enjoy the collaboration between the academic and commercial sectors. I am a lifelong optimist and love a challenge. I have a multidisciplinary education that combines skills in management, business, innovation, crisis management and security. I am also a proud father of two.
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Innovations are the driving force for humanity, that’s why I look for innovations among scientists, which I then transform into commercially successful products. I have been involved in more than 150 successful commercializations, including the most economically successful academic spin-off company in the Czech Republic.
My work makes a lot of sense to me, it has a proven positive impact on human society, it is incredibly colorful, complex, fun and dynamic. In an innovative environment, I feel like a fish in water.

FASCINATING SECURITY
From a young age, I was fascinated by action movies, ideally with fighters and special forces. I have been involved in combat sports almost my whole life. Ten years ago, I founded my own security agency in the field of physical security, which was followed by a second company focused on Crowd Safety management and Crisis Management.
Both agencies are functioning, thriving, feeding many people and protecting many times more people. The most modern and innovative approaches to the protection of property and especially people are what I enjoy and why I am dedicated to the field. I am also learning about new agendas, such as Cyber Security or Counter Foreign Interference.

The beginning of my career in academia

From part-time worker in the study department, to project manager of innovative financing, business development manager of new technologies to deputy director of the Technology Transfer Office.
Founding of the first company

While in college, I earned money as a bouncer in a nightclub. I soon started helping with the organization of the shifts and the events themselves. I wanted to be payed for the service from the production team, they said there is no problem, let me send an invoice. And so I started my own company with a concession for the security, which is still thriving today.
Completion of a master's degree

After high school, I definitely wanted to study in English, for which I received a master's degree in the field of International Relations and European Studies after five years. In the meantime, I managed to complete part of my studies in Portugal.
The start of the real world of innovation
Charles University Innovations Prague a.s.
Charles University is the first university in the Czech Republic to establish its own private company for technology transfer, I was at the start and subsequently became its head. Within two years, it achieved the status of the most efficient agency of its kind in the Czech Republic. It succeeds in commercializing one technology after another, more than 11 subsidiaries are founded. We receive the Miloslav Petrusek prize for promotion, almost 2,000 articles and reports are published about us in five years. We are presented as an excellent example of good practice in the Czech Republic and in Europe.

I wanted to become smarter in the field of public policy in research, development and innovation, so studying became part of the preparation for the headship of CUIP. At that time, I begged my wife to forbid me from studying at another school the next time, because I already had enough. It did not work.

The covid pandemic is starting, I'm at a boxing training camp in Thailand and my phone rings with an opportunity to become a member of the municipal crisis team. I get on the plane and go straight from the airport to the emergency headquater. Here I meet a bunch of professional crisis managers with whom I know I want to work with. So we are founding another agency together, which is now among the absolute top in the field of Crowd Safety and Mobile CCTV systems.

I couldn't last long without studying. The field of industrial security, after the experience of the crisis team and the second security agency, captivated me so much that I applied for doctoral studies, which I plan to successfully complete in 2024.

I received the young managerial talent award in the under 35y category, which I consider a huge satisfaction and validation of my efforts.

After the results achieved, I was offered a position in the junior management of our oldest university, which has a budget of 600 million EUR. I couldn't resist this challenge, so I became the managing head of knowledge and technology transfer, as well as the entire field of security. Thus, from the position of head of the Central Crisis Staff of the Charles University, I also faced the tragic shooting at the Faculty of Philosophy in December 2023. For successfully managing a crisis situation, I received the highest university award - the Charles University Gold Medal.

I have big plans ahead of me in the form of coordinating the Czech-Asian innovation week. I thus have the opportunity to mediate the presentation of the best that the Czech Republic has produced in the field of science, research and innovation in recent years.
